N.Z. Editors In Italy

(.Special) LONDON, February 24. Two members of a New Zealand Press delegation to Britain, Messrs. Whitlock and Freeth, have extended their tour to include a short visit to New Zealand troops in Italy. Upon arrival by plane from Algiers they stayed at New Zealand Club at Bari, and visited the advance base. They spent a few days with the division in the field as guests of General Freyberg’s mess and several times went to the forward areas where they saw much shelling and bombing around Cassino.

Both editors saw service in the last war and were keenly interested in the methods and weapons employed in this.

Among the many people they met were senior officers at Fifth Army headquarters. They are returning to England by plane.
