Whangarei Croquet Tourney Continued

Weather conditions were again ideal for the continuation today of the Whangarei Croquet Chib's annual tournament, which commenced on Saturday and will conclude at the end of the week. All greens are playing perfectly and are in excellent condition alter the hot sunshine cf yesterday and today. The handicap doubles have now been played off but the handicap singles and the championship doubles and singles are yet to be concluded.

Pairs qualifying for post-section play in the handicap doubles were:—Mesdamcs Connell and Smith (Whangarei), Norwood (Whangarei) and Blanchard (Kensington), and Smeaton and Barribali (Kensington). In the semi-finals, Mesdames Norwood and Blanshard defeated Connell and Smith. 26-15. and in the final bear Smeaton and Barribali 26-18. thus winning the handicap doubles. In the chamiponship doubles Mesdames Hilton and Hardley, and Wilson and Rowbottom have qualfied for post-section play. Tiro play-off will occur tomorrow morning.
