WEDDING
SMITH—KINGSTON An attarctive rainbow wedding was celebrated in St. John’s Church. Waimate North, on January 19. when Miss Jov Kingston was married to Lieutenant R. K. Smith. Tiie Vicar of Waimate Parochial district (Rev. H. J. Steele), officiated. Jn a streamlined magnolia satin gown with long, graceful train wearing a beautiful veil held in position with a coronet of orange blsscom. and carrying a lovely bouquet of cream rosebuds ant* maidenhair, the bride looked charming as* she walked up the aisle with her father. (Mr. F. C. Kingston). The bridesmaids were Miss Inez Mountain, (rocked in dainty shell-pink silk and carrying : bouquet of mauve flowers, and Miss Beverley Jones, the bride’s niece, who wain delicate lime-green and carried a shea! of gladioli and other pink flowers. Th:little flower girl. Miss Margaret Jones was lovely in a frock of pale blue, with her basket of blue delphiniums and hydrangeas. The bridegroom was suported by Private W. Newson as best man and LanceCorporal N. Guthrie as groomsman. Mrs D. Jones was organist. The church was tastefully decorated by friends of the bride with beautiful gladioli spikes, young ,oak branches, lovely big white daisies, blue -and white agapanthus, hydraneas and old-fashioned pincushions and petunias. After the ceremony a solo, Pani’s “Angelicas”. was sung delightfully by Mrs. Goodson, of Kerikeri. The church was filled to overflowing with guests, who afterwards motored to the home of the bride's sister. Mrs. D. Jones, where the reception was held. Mrs. Kingston, dressed in black ring velvet, with black accessories, and Mr. Hingston received their guests at the entrance. Mrs. Jones wore a gown of mushroom pink with grey appliques and grey accessories. Mrs. Smith mother of the bridegroom. was dressed in black, with black hat. About 80 guests sat down to the wedding breakfast in the lounge, where several toasts were honoured. The newlymarried couple then left on a motor tour Mrs. Smith wearing an ensemble of oyster beige embroidered Canadian crepe, with hat and shoes to tone. A wide variety of gifts was displayed.
