Eight were killed and 30 injured when a train from Norwich ran. into the rear of a train from Yarmouth at Ilford station last night. Lieut.-Col-onel Heilgers, M.P., was among the killed. The Norwich train was moving comparatively slowly, otherwise the loss of life would have been heavier. Three coaches on the Norwich trair. were telescoped and at least two coaches on the Yarmouth train were wrecked. British and American servicemen strove to free the trapped passengers from a mass of twisted metal and broken glass. Rescue work went on all night and continued in the morning
