1000 Soldiers To Aid South Island Harvest

(P.A/J CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. About 1000 army personnel from the North Island will assist with the harvest in the South Island this year. Tlie first party will arrive shortly, the second about a week later, and the third early in February. Others will be sent from the North Island as required. It was at first thought that a larger number of men would have to be sent from th.e North Island, but on a basis of progress made to date, it is thought that 1000 will be sufficient.
