North Soldiers For Southern Harvesting

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. This Day. Farmers as far south as Timaru and Waimate are to have the services of soldier-harvesters from the North in the wheat harvest season. Today 110 men from northern district military camps left for Canterbury. Their headquarters will be in Timaru. In a week's time a further 165 soldiers are scheduled to leave here for Wairnate. Further groups from the North will go south later. The demand for soldierassistance on Auckland farms is slackening off and it is expected to end in about a fortnight.
