Peru Quells Axis Sponsored Disturbances
(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. lfl. The Peruvian Government announced ’.hat a number of conspirators, including Germans and Japanese who plotted the New Year pro-Nazi coups, have been detained and would be deported. The Government said the consipartors staged antiJewish outbreaks on December 31 and were planning' a cloak for subversive activities in subsequent disorders. Aliens in Peru attempted to join other elements trying' to establish anti-demo-cratic regimes in certain American countries. Confidential data received from abroad indicated that a unitea detailed plan was prepared for the disturbances which would break out on the afternoon of December 31 following the well-known Nazi system of simulating popular outbreaks and attacks on Jewish-owned shops. Subversive elements attempted to _ start disorders in Lima and other provincial capitals and their followers launched a rumour of disorders which occurred in southern Peru. Police measures quelled all disorders initiated.
