Britain Welcomes Czech - Soviet Pact

(8.0. W.) RUGBY. December 35. The Soviet-Czechoslovak treaty of mutual aid was discussed at the Moscow conference, the Foreign Secretary (Mr. Anthony Eden) said in tlie House of Commons. He was glad to be able to avail himself of an opportunity to discuss the matter with M. Molotov and Mr. Cordell Hull. The British Government, continued Mr. Eden, welcomed this agreement against German aggression between two of their Allies, particularly as it provided for tlie adherence of neighbouring countries who had also been the object of German aggression. The Government hoped that the agreement might thus become an important instrument in giving effect to the principles enunciated in the Four-Power declaration on general security, issued at Moscow.
