Compensation Claim By Whangarei Worker
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. A claim for compensation arising out of an aeiedent at a quarry near Wliangarei owned by Wilsons (N.Z.). Portland Cement. Limited, was heard by Mr. Justice O’Regan yesterday. The plaintiff was Walter Henry McConnell, labourer, Whangarei (Mr. Prondergust), and the defendant company was represented by Mr. West. Plaintiff claimed that after the accident he was unable to resume work at the quarry except, for two shifts and had lost wages. He sought compensation at the rate of .£4 a week from April it and for the period of his incapacity pan-. £1 medical expenses. The defence was a denial of plaintiff's allegations. Judgment was reserved.
