Whangarei Rotarians In Christmas Mood

The spirit of Christmas was much in evidence at the Rotary Club’s weekly luncheon today, when, as has been the custom for many years past, ex-Rotarians were the guests of the club. As has also been the custom, Rotarian Rishworth presided over a presentation session, when each of the guests was made the recipient of a gift emblematical of the use to which its real counterpart might bi put. Rotarian Rishworth, who was in humorous mood, embellished each presentation with good advice which provoked hearty laughter. Ex-Rotarians present were Messrs S. C. Blanshard, Wallace Calder, Albert Curtis, W. H. L. -Roberts, R. B. Finch, A. H. Munn, A. Taylor, F. L. Gunn, E. Reed, Alf. Morgan, and S. Weston. The appreciation of the guests was expressed by Mr Curtis. President Peter Butler, in a happy and appropriate speech reviewed the outstanaing features of the club’s activities during the year, and expressed the hope that the next Christmas gathering would be held in an atmosphere of peace restored to the world. Throughout, the luncheon was of a very happy nature and good fellowship marked it in every particular.
