Whangarei Cruising Club Competitions

Further Whangarei Cruising Club races were held on Saturday under ideal weather conditions. The south-west breeze was good for sailing. The main race for the A and B class was from the Town Wharf to Parua Bav and resulted as follows:—Ronaki 1, Waialae 2, Ponty 3, Vanina 4, Waima 5. Wahoo 6, Ben Bolt 7, Galatea 8. There was a splendid finish in this nice, the time between the first and second boats being only a matter of seconds. In the Star class, to Parua Bav. results were:—Vigilant 1, Zephyr 2. Tore 3, Impudent 4, Tainui 5. The seven-footers competed in a race to beacon 18 and back. Results: Lazv 1. Sea Foam 2, No. 4 3.
