Whangarei R.N.Z.N.V.R. Officer Promoted
(Special. 1.45 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. C. The following R.N.Z.N.V.R. promotions have been announced:— Lieutenants: E. H. G. Lasser (Oxford), *N. S. Prebble (Whangarei). J, E. Allen (Devonport), D. F. Davis (Invercargill), N. E. Pollard (Auckland), J. O. Wilson (Willingtcni, also R. L. Campbell, B. S. B. Heal, N. L. Millar, R. M. J. O’Connor, J. A. Pollock. Sub-Lieutenants: R. B. Soldon (New Plymouth), also F. E. Krull, J. L. Sullivan, and C. G. Hunt. Fleet Air Arm. —Lieutenants: N. R. MacKay and A. J. Hugill. Lieutenant N. S. Prebble (Bill) is a son cf Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Prebble. Three Mile Bush, Kamo. He sailed for England in September, 1941. Among his experiences have been service on an aircraft-carrier protecting Murmansk convoys, and participation in the Sicilian landings.
