Parua Bay No. 1 School Flower Show
Pupils of the Parua Bay No. ] School entertained their parents and friends af an afternoon function on Monday. A very successful flower show was held, and while the exhibits wore being judged the grown-ups were entertained with items and drill by the children. The year's handwork was sold, and the proceeds, nearly £3, arc to go to the Patriotic Fund. The flowers were judged by Miss Mallabond, who congratulated the children on their excellent work in the decorative section. Special credit is due ,for the splendid entries in the native how- “ Ors and berries section. The judge was thanked on behalf of the School SweetPea Club by Aline Harnett, and Noeline Dangen presented her with a bouquet. The prize-list was:— Sweet Peas.—Champion bloom: Aline Harnett 1. Points prizes: Lois Campbell and Doreen Dangen 1, Aline Harnett ", Murray and Rex Telfer 3, John Bush and Pam Maddox h.c. Posies: Raewyn Telfer 1, Lois Campbell 2. David Manning 3. Shoulder sprays: Joan Morris 1, Murray Telfer 2, Aline Harnett 3. Button-holes: Rex Telfer 1. Murray Telfer 2, Raewyn Telfer and Laurel Williams equal 3. Bowl of native flowers: John Bush 1, Dorothy Dangen 2, Raewyn Teller and Noeline Dangen equal 3.
