WASHINGTON, October 4. Mr. Henry Morgenthau is introducing a inew Tax Bill designed to raise 10,650,000,000; ,dollars, more than half of which will come; ; from individuals. The new income tax j rates will bring in 6,610,000,000, of which; '3.C5C.006,000 will be straight tax and the “remainder will be enforced savings refund-' ■jable after the war. >; Corporation taxes will he increased by ■ 11,110,000,000, excise 2,530,000,000 and gift; •■and estate duties 460.000.000. *! The Associated Press says that the Bill: . will put Ihe so-called luxuries of life, :spirits, beer, chewing-gum. tobacco and ■‘travelling, on an all-out war footing, and; 10 per cent, beers will be a thing of the past.
