General Synod In Auckland Next Month

(P A ) AUCKLAND. This Day. For the first time for 21 years the general synod of the Anglican Church will be held in Auckland next month, opening cn November 24. Archbishop West-Watson will preside, and among the bishops attending will be the Bishop of Melanesia (Rt. Rev. W. H. Baddeloy) who has carried on work in the islands under the greatest difficulties since the Japanese occupation of a considerable part of his diocese. The bishop, who won the Military Cross with Bar and toe D.S.O. in the last war, will make a hurried tour oi the Dominion after conclusion of Synod, and then visit Australia. The business session of Synod wi.l cover about 10 days. Those attending, in addition to bishops, will be three clerical and four lay representatives from cac.i of the seven dioceses in the Dominion, also representatives from Melanesia and Polynesia.
