Senior-Sergeant Power

OBITUARY

The death has occurred in Wellington of Senior-Sergeant John Joseph Power, aged about 60, who had been a member of the Police Force for 35 years. Formerly in the Royal New Zealand Artillery, originally known as the Armed Constabulary, Senior-Ser-geant Power joined the Police Force in 1908 and was first stationed in Auckland. He was at Palmerston North and Stratford as a sergeant, was promoted senior-sergeant at Hamilton and was then transferred to Wellington, where he had been stationed for the past eight years. He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters.
