Land Sales By Auction

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. Many properties continue to be sold at auction in Auckland, apparently with the object of having transfers completed before values become subject to the provisions of the Land Sales Act, which becomes effective on October 18. Current offers range from farm lands to summer cottages, while residences of all types and vacant sections in almost every suburb in the 'city are being submitted. By far the larger number of residences are being offered subject to existing tenancies, while many form part of estates which executors are anxious to wind up before they become involved in the formalities necessary under the new Act. In most suburbs sections which have not been for sale for years either have been recently offered or now display auction notices.
