Mairtown Tennis Club Annual Meeting
The balance-sheet of the Mairtown Tennis Club, presented by the secretary and treasurer ~ (Mrs. R. Georgeson' to the annual meeting held in Whangarei last night, showed that the club’s financial position was very sound. Officers believe that if the standard of finances set by the last season continues, liabilities will be dissolved within the next season. About 95 members are on the roll ol the club. It was decided to open on September 18. . . . , , In his report the retiring president (Mi. J. H. Birchall) complimented the ladies knitting circle, who, throughout the year, had continued to send parcels to members serving overseas. Election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr. K. G. M. Kelly; president. Mrs. R. Georgeson; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Rishworth and L. A. Johnson; secretary and treasurer, Miss J. Hannam; captain, Mr. J. Atkinson; vice-president, Mrs. D. Smith; committee, Messrs H. Hookam and J. H. E'irchall. Mesdames Keene and D. Smith, Miss K. May.
