Hungarian Foreign Policy
LONDON, July 25 The Hungarian Regent (Admiral Horthy) has appointed M. Ghiczy as Foreign Minister in succession to M. Kallay, says Oslo radio. Rome radio, commenting on the apvointment, said that substitution oi M. Ghiczy would not modify Hungary’s foreign policy, and added that Hungarian officials denied thal Hungary is seeking a separate peace. Five were sentenced to death at Sofia at the trial of heads of secret organisations, which sent military information by radio to foreign Powers, says Berlin radio. Five others were sentenced to life imprisonment. Russian Advance Continues The Russian advance towards Orel continues, according to tonight’s communique, which states: “Today Soviet troops in die Orel direction, overcoming enemy resistance and counter-attacks, continued the offensive and advanced from two and a-half to six miles, occupying 30 localities. The communique gives the names of several localities and adds that: in the direction of Byeigorod, reconnaissance activity took place, and on some sectors of this front there was fighting of local importance. In the Donotz Basin, south of Izyum. and. south-west, of Voroshilovgrad there was intensified reconnaissance activity. Yesterday, on all sectors of the front, .Soviet troops destroyed or disabled 64 enemy tanks. In aerial engagements, and by anti-aircraft fire, 56 German planes were shot down.
