Fighter Command Attacks Enemy Transport

(8.0. W., 1.45 p.m.) RUGEY, July 23. Typhoons, Mustangs. Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Fighter Command today attacked enemy _ transport in occupied Europe. Four Hurricanes destroyed two locomotives and damaged three and shot up barges and motor trucks. The first locomotive attacked blew up, and the second one destroyed was knocked off its bogey. Two Typhoon pilots encountered two Mcsserschinitt 109 s in the Nieuport area, and attacked the leading machine. It was last seen going down with smoke pouring from it. with the under-carriage down and bits falling off it.
