His Majesty Honours High-Placed Officers
(1.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 14. The United States Secretary for War (Mi*. H. L. Sfimson) was received in audience by the King at Buckingham Palace today. The King also received Air Chief Marshal Sir Philip Joubert de la Ferte on his appointment as InspectorGeneral of the R.A.F., Air Chief Marshal Sir Frederick Bowhill, on his appointment as Air Officer Commanding A Transport Command, and Air Marshal Sir Arthur Barratt, on his appointment as Air Officer Commanding the Technical Training Command.
