Margin Of Profit

(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. The opinion that the margin of profit to sellers of goods should be on a percentage basis and" not a unit basis, as at present, was voiced by Mr. L. C. Miller at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Manufacturers’ Association.

Mr. Miller said the position at present was that if 5d was tfie profit on a 5/article before the war, the same margin of profit obtained now’. He understood the retailers were being allowed to operate on a percentage basis of profit. On the motion of Mr. G. A. Hardley, it was decided to draw the attention of the Manufacturers’ Federation to the position, and also to support wholesalers’ representations in' the same direction.
