U-Boats Are Losing
(Roc. 1.15 p.m.) LONDON, May 14. It is authoritatively stated that the most encouraging feature of the naval situation in the past six weeks has been the improvement in results of attacks against U-boats. Atlantic sinkings in April were much below March, and the improvement continued during May. "I think the U-boat is fighting a losing battle,” said Admiral Stark. “This is not said on the results of one. two, or three months. I am considering the general trend. It will be better in the coming- months, although probably there will be some dips in th\ sinkings curve. I always have been optimistic of a time to come when we will lick the submarine.
