Musical Treat At Regent
AMUSEMENTS
Splendid entertainment was presented to patrons of the Regent Theatre last evening in the screening of “They Shall Have Music,” a picture dedicated to those schools who foster .talent in young musicians who otherwise would have no opportunity of learning. In addition to an orchestra of 65 juveniles, and a nine-year-old singer with a voice'strangely reminiscent of Gali Cure! the famous violinist Jascha "Heifetz makes his screen debut, all combining to make a veritable feast of music.
The story centres round a New York music master whose life is wrapped up in the development of talent found among children of tenement residents. Into this school comes Frankie who has inherited a talent for the violin. The boy is taken in hand by the professor and blossoms into a fine musician. How he repavs his debt by luring the great Heifetz to the aid of the financially bankrupt school provides a good climax to a fine story. The short subjects of the programme are well in keeping. An information film “The Struggle for Life.” gives graphic details of the activities of the League of Nation Research Committee in combating disease and promoting the health of the people of the world.
