CANBERRA, This Day
A tax bill, providing ior the raising oC £40.000,000 from new income taxation beginning on April 1, making Australian incomes the most heavily taxed in the British Empire, was passed by the House of Representatives shortly before 5.30 yesterday morning. The Senate will consider the new taxes next week. An amendment moved by the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Fadden) that the' Bill be re-drafted was earlier defeated by 29 votes to 26.
