It is authoritatively understood that most important political discussions between the United Nations will start in Washington in the near future, affecting the immediate' conduct of the war and future development of peace, says the “Christian Science Monitor’s’’ Washington corresponlent. British, ' American, Russian and Chinese representatives and possibly other Allied diplomats will take part in the conversations, which are reported to include the administration in North Africa; territorial problems in Eastern Europe, including Poland and the Baltics; application of the Atlantic Charter to so-called backward peoples and a constructive approach to freedom; air allocation to the principal United Nations of defensive naval, military and air bases, which shall be administered as a common responsibility; and last, but not least, a few bricks will be laid for the foundation of a system of security after the war.
