Long, Hard Road Still Ahead-Canadian P.M.

OTTAWA, February 19. “People are thinking too much of post-war matters at a time when victory is far from won,” said Mr Mackenzie King, in the Commons. “There is a very great danger of members of this House and the people getting the impression that the war will be won this year.” He added: “It is impossible to stress too strongly the seriousness of the existing situation, and what is ahead. “To defeat the Axis is going to take all the efforts of the Allies for a considerable time to come.”
