Langstone Is Still Marking Time
(P.A.) T/ 'HAPE, This Day. Mr. F. Langstone, who has returned to New Zealand r.rtev holding the post of
High Commissioner in Canada, in an interview stated that his resignation had not been presented to the Prime Minister owing to the indisposition of Mr. Fraser, who had been compelled to cancel a special meeting of Cabinet called for December 9 to receive his resignation as reported from Canada, In the circumstances Mr. Langstone stated he was awaiting the assembling of Cabinet to present his resignation in person, according to Parliamentary procedure. In the meantime he was visiting his electorate. The Minister added emphatically that it was definitely untrue that he had an office and secretary in Wellington. The acting-Minister of Lands still controls the portfolio and the private secretary was attached to the acting-Minister.
