Claims Hess Brought These Peace Terms

LONDON, November 3

Claiming accurate knowledge of the peace terms on which Hess came to England, Sir Patrick Dollan, ex-Lord Provost of Glasgow, declared that Hess arrived as official ambassador of Hitler. Hess said after his arrival that he expected to be allowed to return within 48 hours.

The terms included: (1) The return of German Colonies. (2) Britain to give up a proportion of her military, naval and air strength, and also pay indemnity, being allowed to retain sufficient air strength to protect the British Isles. (3) Europe would be Germanised with Hitler as over-lord. (4) Germany would receive the Atlantic coasts of West Africa, also Syria, Palestine and other territories. (5) Germany and Italy would receive control of the Suez Canal. (6) Mussolini (would receive Corsica and Tunis and Spain would receive French Morocco and Gibraltar.

Sir Patrick adde’d that this would be more humiliating than the Treaty of Versailles.’ -V~
