Seasonal Work For Male Teachers

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, This Day. With a view to relieving the labour shortage, unmarried male teachers and married male teachers without children and also students are to be subject to compulsory direction to seasonal work during the coming summer holidays.

The work to which they may be directed will include freezing works, wool stores, and canneries. The arrangements which have been made by many teachers to, take seasonal work during the holidays will be allowed to stand.

Teachers not subject to this direction are also being asked to offer their services. As in past years, .voluntary services of high school boys are being sought for seasonal farm work during the holidays.
