£25 Grant For Kaitaia Firs Brigade
A decision to make a preliminary grant of £25 to the Kaitaia Volunteer Fire Brigade, and to supplement it later, was made by the town board on Wednesday. The secretary (Mr. B. McKinnon) had written asking for the usual grant ol £l2O. outlining the need for hose replacement and for extra equipment to cope with the special conditions arising from the war situation. , , “Can hose be got now?” asked one member. , “The brigade have had some on order for a long time,” replied Cmr. Roughsedge. “We have heard that some has come into the country, so we arc hoping to have our share."
