Safer Footpath Needed At Bus Slop

We fee! thal this would make for ureater safety of the children,” said the headmaster oi the Kaitaia District High School, who led a deputation to the Kaitaia Town Board at its monthly meeting on Wednesday. The deputation comprised the headmaster, Mr. Bird, and a committee member. Mrs. Roughscdgo. Some few weeks ago a school pupil lost her life when a school bus pulled up at the footpath, and as part of the frontage was used by all school buses, the deputation wished the path to be made ns safe as possible Mr. Archibald, acting-chairman in the absence of Mr. .T. T. B. Taaft'e. assured the deputation that the board would do all in its power to provide the extra safety asked for.
A ’committee of members arranged to visit the school the next aitornoon to see what was needed, so that the work could be put in hand as soon as possible.
