Wants New, More Just Attitude To Asia
NEW YORK, June 11
In a speech after receiving the honorary degree of Doctorate of Laws at Yale University, the Chinese Ambassador (Dr. T. V. Soong) said that Asia was tired of . being regarded only in the terms of, markets, concessions or a source of rubber, tin and oil, or of furnishing human chattels to work raw materials. “Past failures have not dimmed our hopes that an effective world instrument to dispense and enforce justice will arise from the terrors, sufferings and sacrifices of this war,” he said. “For such an international government, China, with all other liberty-loving nations, will gladly cede such of its sovereign power as is required.”
