There was no return fire from the R-boat and all the aircraft returned safely.

Crashed Into Sea

A German twin-engined floatplane on a shipping reconnaissance off north-east Scotland was intercepted last night by a Beaufighler which sighted the floatplane at 500 feet and at once attacked with both cannon and machine-guns. The Beaufighter swept round for a frontal attack and the floatplane dropped lower and lower and finally relied over on its back and crashed into the sea.
