Petain’s Speeches For Roosevelt Library

Rec. 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON. April 9.

The Vichy Ambassador (M. Henri Haye) presented a bound volume of Petain’s speeches to President Roosevelt today.

Haye said he hoped the compendium would help Mr. Roosevelt to understand the principles Petain has been following as head of the French State since the fall of France. Petain inscribed a message of thanks “for the understanding the President has shown on several occasions for the situation of France.”
