Oruru

March 28 was Gala Day in Oruru, when the children of Oruru school and their headmaster held a garden party in the school grounds, netting the sum of £l9. Cake, produce and jumble stalls were well patronised.. Prices sometimes were high, but everyone thought of the cause and paid cheerfully. Darts, quoits, concert and puppet all did well, and reflected credit on the children whose happy and eager faces were a joy to see. , Lunch and afternoon tea were served, and all enjoyed themselves.
