Scout Week Inauguration

[Special to "Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND, This Day. A broadcast this evening by the Governor-General (Sir Cyril Newall) will inaugurate Scout Week throughout the Dominion. A drive is being made to secure 50,000 scouts and 2000 scouters, and in this connection community good turns will be done by the different scout troops in Auckland on Saturday morning. Sunday marks the anniversary of the birth of the founder of the movement, the late Lord Baden-Powell, and also of Lady Baden-Powell, and in the afternoon a “scouts’ own” intercessory service will be held in the Domain.
