Otamatea’s Patriotic Effort
The Otamatea Patriotic Committee has I made a good start towards raising its I quota of the 1942 All Purposes Patriotic i Appeal. A sum amounting to £5750 has been allocated to the county and it has ; been decided to collect this amount in ! two years. | It is proposed during the current year to raise £2300 and the balance of £2450 next year. Each riding has been allocated a certain amount, and with the exception of Ruawai, every riding reached its first quarterly quota. The Ruawai riding raised £lB out of a quarterly allocation of £250. A total of £649/8/- was raised and the following are the amounts from each riding: Matakohe £55, Ararua £4O, Kaiwaka £132/10/-, Maungaturoto-Whaka-Ipirau £197/10/-, Paparoa £l3O/13/6, Mareretu £75, Ruawai-Tokatoka £lB/14/6. Paparoa’s Direct Giving The Paparoa riding has always relied upon a policy of direct giving by means of individual donations and the followling is a list of the last collection sheets.— Annual subscriptions: E.
