Canadian Secret Session
OTTAWA. Feb. 17,
The first secret session of the Canadian House of Commons since the last war will be held this week, probably on Thursday, to discuss Canada’s coastal defences and other matters pertaining to the Canadian war effort.
The Prime Minister (Mr Mackenzie King) told the House that the Government had intended holding a secret session at a later date, but the fait of Singapore had raised a general demand for an immediate session.
Mr Mackenzie King declared that Canada will be represented on the Pacific War Council in London should its discussions be extended to cover the whole Pacific area.
