War Budget Proves Extent Of Production
LONDON, Jan. 9
President Roosevelt’s message to Congress, in which he estimated the United States war expenditure for 1942 at the vast total of over £14,000.000,000—the largest war Budget in history—is regarded as clear proof of the formidable war production of which the United States is capable. The “Manchester Guardian” points •out that the United States is proposing to spend more in two months than Britain is spending in 12.
Not Counting Cost
The “Daily Telegraph” notes that the United States’ war Budget will nearly double that of Germany.
