A total o£ 956 entries, a record for a South Island tournament, has been received for the Dominion bowling- championships to be held in Dunedin next month. This total has been exceeded only once, when the tournament was held in Auckland in 1939, there being 1000 entries oil that occasion. The totals in the various sections are: Singles 406, pairs 364, fours 186.
