Fairburns
The November meeting of the Fairburns Women’s Institute w’as held in the hall on Thursday when Mrs. Lupton presided over a good attendance. Visitors were welcomed and a new member enrolled. It was decided to enter for the federation garden show to be held in Kaitaia early in February. The sale of mystery parcels brought in a good sum for federation funds.
It was reported that all members who sat for the home nursing examin - ation had passed, five of the ten with honours. A trophy donated by Mrs. Hoskin was won by Mrs. Lupton. Tlie monthly competitions were a bowl of flowers, and mittens for the patriotic committee. Luncheon was served by the Kaiaka members.
