Whangarei Branch Plunket Society
The monthly meeting of the Whangarei Branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Mayor's Room on November 18. Present;—Mesdamcs Thomson (in chair), Jones, Brake, Ross, Hart, Cooke, Surman Wilson, Moreton, Foote. Johnson, Cumming, Kearney, Thorne and Goodwin. Accounts amounting to 9/- were passed for payment. Nurse Fraser’s report for October was as follows: New cases 24; headquarters. 21, outstations 3. Visits to homes, headquarters, 138; outstations 8. Visits to office, headquarters, 587; outstations, 124. Places visited during the month:— Waipu, Portland, Waiotira and Maungakaramea once, Hikurangi twice. Notification was received from the Medical Officer of Health (Dr. Dempster) that the examination of preschool children would have to be discontinued until the appointment of a school medical officer for this district.
