Mother’s Cruelty to Child
At the Eketahuna Magistrate’s Court last week before Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M., a married woman,.Mrs. D. Peck, of Eketahuna, was sent to gaol for one month with hard labour for ill-treating one of her children. It was disclosed that the child had been given an unmerciful thrashing and when two doctors examined her her limbs were black and blue all over, with hardly a patch for a half-crown between the bruises.
