Dominion Reconstruction Conference
As a result of circularising over 100,000 questionnaires and invitations among members of the Moral, Spiritual and Social Advancement Movement of New Zealand, the following leaders have been voted to be opening speakers at the interim Dominion Reconstruction Conference, which will be held in Auckland from November 27 to 30. Health, etc.. Dr. Ulric Williams, N.D., M. Ch.B.; womens’ interests. Miss Joan Sutherland. Director Happiness Club; national nutrition. Dr. Guy Chapman. D.D.S. (Penn.), D.D.S., R.C.S. (Edin.); economics, industry and commerce, Mr. Gilbert Clark, A.P.A.N.Z.; national efficiency and social progress, Mi'. H. J. Kelliher, Director Bank cf New Zealand, editor “The Mirror”; wortd reconstruction, Mr. Brian Dunningham, director social justice crusade; farming, Captain H. M. Rushworth, Auckland president N. Farmers’ Union; education, Mr. F. Martyn Renner, principal Rongotai College; youth activities. Mr. Edmund Hillary, A.T.R.L., Radiant Living School; finance. Mr. John Hogan, well-known Australian lecturer; spiritual development, His Grace Archbishop Averill, D.D.; mental and moral advancement, Dr. Herbert Sutcliffe, D.Sc., Ph.D., D.D., F.F.Sc. (Lond.); publicity and subsequent action. Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour, Controller N.C.8.5.; for chairman, Rev. Canon Walter Averill, 8.A.; for director, Mr. Brian Dunningham. Other speakers will include Mrs. Hedda Dyson, editor “N.Z. Women’s Weekly”; Mr. John Griffiths, director 1ZB; Mr. G. G. Rossiter, member Christian Businessmen’s Association: Mrs. M. Irwin. New Women’s Club; Mr. R, Beckett, union and general secretary. All speakers who accept the invitation to open the respective subjects, will do so in their personal capacities. The conference will be opened by th£ Mayor of Auckland.
