About 1000 spring lambs were yarded, mostly prime quality. The market opened with values up to B>/ 2 d per lb., but eased to £8 towards the finish. Ewe hoggets sold to 29/1 for open wools; others to 28/-; shorn wether hoggets., to 21/-; adult aged wethers, to 22/10. In the fat sheep section, best wethers made from 24/- to 27/-; tops, to 30/10; average. 20/- to 23/-; others, down to 16/-; good ewes, 24/- to 26/7; good prime, 17/6 to 20/-; medium weight, 14/6 to 17/-;. light and ordinary, 10/6 to 14/-. Best steers made from £l7 to £l9/12/6; good, £l3/10/- to £l6; secondary, down to £lO/10/-; good quality heifers, £l3 to £ls/10/-; average, £9 to £11; best beef made 36/- to 39/- per 1001 b; heavyweights, 33/- to 35/-; secondary, to 32/0; cow beef, down to 24/-. Porkers eased by a-- average of 2/a head, and baconers by about 5/-. Porkers made from £2/2/0 to £3/6/0, average per lb.. Giid to B>/ 2 d; baconers. £3/2/6 to £4/16/6; average per lb., 6d to 8 J / 4 d.
