Auckland ’Change
[Special to “Northern Advocate”] AUCKLAND. This Day. A firm tone, with business fairly quiet prevailed on the Auckland Stock Exchange today. A parcel of the original war loan was reported sold at a further gain of one-eighth, but more of the stock was available at that price. A similar rise took place in the 194346 4 per cent stock, which was active last week. Banks and Insurances were steady, sellers of the latter being mostly off the market. Electrolytic Zincs had better offers at £2/10/-, but other leading Australians were little changed. Sales completed at the noon call todav were: Loan and Mercantile, £4l/10/-; MaeDufTs (pref.), £l/0/3; Woolworths (Sydney), 10/4.
