Portland Patriotic Dance Nets £l7

A patriotic dance, convened by Mrs. F. Rhodes and committee, was held recently in the Portland Hall, which was crowded with dancers. Dancing was continued until a late hour, being one of the best held this year and £l7/7/- being raised. Winners of the Monte Carlo were Mr. Dickinson and partner and the spot waltz Miss Richards and Mr. North. Among those present were: Mesdames A. C. Whitham, floral georgette; S. Williams, grey and scarlet; J. Henry, striped taffeta; C. Hanna, black floral georgette; W. E. Williams, navy and white georgette; L. G. Adams, shot tafleta; R. McLaren, black lace; W. Lupton, black and mauve; Kitson, burgundy cloque; N. Peterwood, black georgette; A. Anderson, magenta georgette. Misses Valerie Williams, gold taffeta, white coatee with golden spray; H. Donaldson, blue satin; Anne Pitman, cyclamen georgette with gold accessories; N. Pitman, dusky pink organdie, green trimmings; E. Pitman, teal blue velvet, sequin coatee; T. Johnson, apricot georgette, silver sequin trimmings; Alice Boyd, black moire taffeta, gold spray; Esme Whitham, black taffeta, with lace inset; M. Harper, white georgette with silver accessories; June Leese, white organdie; H. Craig, navy taffeta, white trimmings; June Powell, green taffeta with black coatee and floral spray; O. Ferguson, white georgette; Vivienne Boyd, stiff snow lace, cyclamen taffeta slip; Dome Arneil, white organdie, shoulder spray clover flowers; Thelma Richards, ice blue taffeta with silver trimmings; Nelda Colvin, white Victorian net, silver sprinkled.
