Maungaturoto Man Sends Message From Athens
A message from a Maungaturoto soldier, Private E. W. Jackman, to his mother, Mrs. E. W. Jackman, was heard over the Athens radio, by Mr. W. R. Patterson, of Whangarei, at about 6.30 last evening.— Private Jackman stated he was relinquishing duties at the Athens hospital, and added that Leo Robinson was progressing satisfactorily. According to advice received by the Prisoners of War office, Auckland, on October 14, Private Jackman was believed to be a prisoner of war in Italy.
