Labour Opponent For Atmore Likely

[Special to “Northern Advocate”] WELLINGTON, This Day. Support for the Government’s social programme has led in the past to Mr. H. Atmore meeting with no Labour opposition in the Nelson electorate, but it is now learned from a reliable source that there is a strong possibility cf a Labour candidate being selected for the seat if a general election is held. There is no explanation of the change in the Labour attitude, but it is probably due to the closer association of Mr. Atmore with Parliamentary members of the Democratic Labour Party which has been apparent recently.
